The company

The American company Dymotek specializes in the production of 2-component liquid silicone components. With the Nexus X200 dosing system, a cycle time reduction of 28% was achieved, resulting in a significant increase in production output.

Initial situation & challenges

On the customer side, an injection molding machine from Arburg and a Wittmann robot are used as part of an overall 2K injection molding process. The heating time was originally 40 seconds and the total cycle time was a full 60 seconds. The particular challenges of the project were both the highly complex production process of Dymotek and adhesion problems between the TP and the liquid silicone.

More efficient mixing ratio
Solution with countless benefits More efficient mixing ratio

Thanks to the integration of the Servomix X200 dosing system from Nexus, the process window has been increased and the cycle time reduced by 28%, resulting in higher machine output. As the 1:1 mixing ratio now has less than 0.2% variation, the mechanical properties are now constant thanks to our solution, providing better adhesion and reduced scrap. The all-electric dosing system from Nexus guarantees maximum precision and optimizes Dymotek's production processes significantly.

We are proud of the results. We had great pleasure in the project itself and this is shared by the customer: More efficient processes and perfect mixing ratios ensure significantly more output in production.

Quote from Patrick Malfent
33% Heating time reduction
The heating time could be reduced from 40 to 27 seconds. This saves a lot of energy and therefore costs.
28% Cycle time reduction
The total cycle time has been reduced from 60 to 47 seconds - this means an efficiency increase of 28%.
Ø 0.13% Deviation
At a mixing ratio of 1:1, a deviation of less than 0.2% on average was observed after 100 cycles.
